Setup and programming sub-spindle lathes in G-code with programGuide
SINUMERIK 840D sl and 828D
As machine tools become more advanced in their functionality, it’s critical to understand all of the capabilities your SINUMERIK CNC has to offer. When looking in from the outside, these complex turning centers can appear intimidating. However, once you have a basic understanding of the G-codes driving this technology, it becomes much easier to support these machines through a CAM solution.
In this webinar, we’ll have an opportunity to explore real-world programming examples that will take advantage of a machine tool equipped with a sub-spindle. First, we will look at how to setup a sub-spindle lathe and then program a part. Simple part transfers to including part-off and drawing capabilities. Once complete, attendees will have the confidence to apply this technology in their current challenges.
Primary topics we'll focus on during the webinar include:
- Setup of tools and work offsets for both main and sub-spindle applications
- Turning a complete part with a transfer to sub spindle.
- Handling bar work by including a part-off cycle with a part transfer
- Drawing the part out of the main spindle prior to part-off
