The functional principle used is simple: Hydraulic fluid is moved only as required – it’s not the pump, but the pump drive that makes the difference – a theory that can be applied to almost any hydraulic system. The Siemens servo pump generates
only the energy required in the
relevant process phase. This yields a significant savings effect, particularly during times where the hydraulic cylinder rests and therefore no power (intervals) or little power (maintaining pressure with inactive cylinder) is required. During a break, the pump is virtually stopped and requires significantly less energy compared to solutions during which the pump continues running.
