In Virtual Production the virtual machining and optimization in the simulation replaces the repeated test processing of the workpiece on the actual machine. Simulation software developed by Siemens provides the opportunity for optimization even during the development phase of production.

Virtual Production facilitates significantly better production processes and thus shorter paths to the optimized workpiece. By integrating the simulation of the processing with regard to surface quality, precision, and machining speed, any potential for optimization can be detected considerably more quickly and cost effectively than before, because it is no longer necessary to perform extensive tests on the actual workpiece.

The Virtual Production output data includes position, speed, and acceleration of the TCP, as well as the orientation of tool to the workpiece at various points in the manufacturing process. The data can be represented spatially as NC tracks, compared and analyzed by means of an integrated visualization and analysis tool.
